• The plans aim to improve facilities for dog owners including dog bins.
  • Leaving dog waste can drastically reduce people’s enjoyment of this very special and beautiful landscape and dog mess has become a large-scale problem in certain areas. It is an offence not to clean up after your dog.
  • Additionally, dog waste has very high levels of nitrogen and other nutrients within it. Heathlands require low nutrient soils and the chemicals added from dog mess are changing the soils composition. This makes the heather and other rare plants sick whilst also promoting the growth of common, undesirable weeds such as nettles and thistles.
  • Please clean up after your dog, especially on heathlands.
